Vision and Mission

The New Life Church vision is to be an Acts 2 prevailing Church. We recognise the need to return to the relationship that the early church had with God the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit as well as each other. 

In order to accomplish this as a community of believers we state that we aim to be:

1) Radically committed to God

The recognition of the Lordship of Jesus, demonstrated through His full authority in our lives and His position as head of His church.

Recognition of the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, His place in our lives and His Church, demonstrated in and through the fruit and gifts with freedom for Him to operate.

2) Irrevocably committed to each other

Acceptance of individual people as part of the body and thereby each shall show respect for everyone and their place and role in the body.

3) Relentlessly committed to the lost

Recognising that this was the main aim of Jesus’ life and the entire purpose of God’s plan for redemption, we will also make this fundamental to and at the centre of all we do as individuals and as a corporate body.

We will see this through:

Worship – We were created for God’s pleasure:

We will worship our Creator and Saviour, by celebrating the Lord both corporately, at church, and as individuals

• Music and singing: – which will be reverent and relevant. We will seek to provide a platform that leads people to worship God for who He is and to worship Him in spirit and truth.
• Prayer: – will form the central core of our worship and relationship with God, whereby we communicate with Him and He with us.
• Being empowered by the Holy Spirit and being dependent upon God.

Fellowship – We were formed for God’s family:

We will support one another in spiritual growth, Christian ministry and through the joys and sorrows of life

• Our desire is to see deepening relationships with God and each other
• We will witness to the neighbourhood by our love for God and each other
• We will provide an arena for home groups and seek growth in these groups and the church by the preaching of the gospel and the systematic teaching of the word
• We will value everyone and welcome all newcomers
  
  Discipleship – We were created to become like Christ:
  
  Learning and sharing from the Bible how to live in today’s world in the obedience of faith. Develop the necessary skills, as a follower of Christ, in order to make an impact in our society for the kingdom of God.
• Inspiring and relevant Bible teaching
• Personal discipline in applying the word of God to our lives, with the desire to be more like Jesus day by day
• Corporate support and assistance in achieving this aim will be provided for all
  
  Ministry – We were shaped for serving God:
  
  Serving Jesus by serving one another and our fellow human beings wherever we are; using our time, God-given skills, spiritual gifts, possessions and our money.
• Identification of each individual’s talents and gifting
• Equipping individuals to develop and utilise their talents and gifts
• Recognising and empowering people in areas of leadership, at all levels
• Encouraging all to use their gifts to God’s glory
  
  Mission – We were made for a mission:
  
  To see others brought into the saving grace of our Lord Jesus. We will seek to take the word and the love of Christ to our neighbourhood and to the world. We will be obedient to the leading of Jesus and in the commitment of our resources to evangelism.
• Encourage every Christian to be a witness of Jesus wherever they are
• Forge links with local community
• We will seek to develop relationships with other churches of a like mind in the achieving of our aims
• We will seek links with missionaries and churches abroad with the aim of combining resources for evangelism.
