Outside Ourselves

We hold it imperative to our faith in God that we are involved in what the church calls mission. This is where we look outside of ourselves to the needs of others. This can be either in this country or abroad. At the New Life Church we feel a mix of both is paramount. At home we generally support an organisation called “Christians against Poverty” CAP. This organisation  targets the under privileged in the UK or those going through unusual or unforeseen financial difficulties. Our page on CAP has more details about what they do both here and abroad. One of their efforts has been to lobby the Government into realistic dealings with 3rd world debt and the interest payments levied by our and other western governments. We believe that God looks for justice and charity and feel that CAP applies these biblical and social principles in a way that warrants our support.

We also believe it is important to be personal in our approach to mission. For many years we have supported work in Romania, helping a pastor and his family in setting up a church in a Gypsy village just outside Brasov and in the building of a drop-in centre for street children.  Florin and his wife Mihaila recently visited us in Crondall and it was wonderful to hear first hand about what God is doing through their work, as you can see on our Romania page.

Serving Each Other

We also need to love and serve our church members and the residents of Crondall and the local area.  The ministries at New Life Church demonstrate how we put this love into action through activities for people who come to church (prayer, praise & worship, Sunday school, housegroups and banners) and for the local community (toddlers, coffee stop and puppets).  For a special focus on our childrens and youth work, please see the Kids page and the Jabez Puppets.
